Kevin McSpadden is an attorney in private practice based in Los Angeles, California, primarily representing renewable energy developers. Mr. McSpadden has experience in the disciplines of mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, project finance, regulatory, legislative, corporate, energy and environmental legal representation. Mr. McSpadden has many years practicing before regulatory agencies; in particular, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the California Energy Commission, the California Public Utilities Commission, and the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Mr. McSpadden has been practicing as an attorney in the utility/energy field for more than 20 years. Prior to starting his own practice, Mr. McSpadden was an attorney in the Global Project Finance Department of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP based in the firm’s Los Angeles and New York offices for over 10 years.

He has extensive experience in representing clients in matters related to the structuring, development and financing of energy infrastructure and power generation projects involving a wide range of fuels (geothermal, wind, biomass, solar, solid waste, methane, hydro, and gas). He has extensive experience in the structuring and negotiating of a wide variety of energy related commercial transactions in both the private and public sectors, including wholesale and retail gas and electric commodity supply agreements, energy aggregation programs, HVAC and demand side management projects and financing arrangements, as well as large scale e-commerce transactions involving advanced utility metering and communications systems.

Kevin has spoken at national and international energy conferences concerning energy policy, development, financing and commercial transactions. Mr. McSpadden received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and a Juris Doctor from Tulane University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia.
